mdg5220
Hi, I have a P5W DH Deluxe and 6 bars of CM2X1024-8500C5D. When I put in one pair (the same for all three pairs) my computer runs fine at 1000MHz on the ram and has done so for 8 month. WHen I put in two more (tried combining the pairs in every way possible) the system hangs when booting. It will often get to the Vista welcome screen and then stall. What am I doing wrong? I have tried setting the voltage to 2.2, 2.25 and 2.30 with no luck. I have increased the memory controller voltage with no luck. If I set the speed of the ram to 667 MHz it runs without any problems at all. Any suggestions? Best regards Martin
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 17, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 17, 2007 Thats normal for that MB it is not rated for 1066 FSB memory only DDR800. And the top end for most I975 MB's is about 1030 Mhx with two modules and about DDr860 with 4 modules.
mdg5220
Hi Ram Guy, I would be satisfied if I could run it at 860MHz, but I can only run it at 667MHz, why is that? Cheers, Martin
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 20, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 20, 2007 As I stated that would be the limit of that memory controller on the chipset and it id normal you would have to over clock the CPU to get the frequency I stated.
