themaxxz
I recently(Sep-07) built myself the following computer: - Asus P5N32-E SLI PLUS - Core2Duo 2,33 BOX E6550 - 320GB 16MB Baracuda Sata Seagate - Gainward GeForce 8800GTS 640MB GDDR3 - Corsair TWIN2X 6400C4 DDR2, 2048MB CL4 - Thermaltake Toughpower 750W, Modular I'm not overlocking my cpu or gpu. Whenever I try to play team fortress 2(steam), my PC will just shutdown after several minutes. There is no error messages or BSOD. This system will happily run bioshock, perform xvid encoding, run world community grid computing or anything else without issues. I have since tried/verified the following: - moved memory from slot1 and slot3 to slot1 and slot2, to remove dual-channel setup - ran orthos prime overnight to test stability, no errors recorded - ran atitool to push my GFX card to 80degrees, no errors detected - ran orthos prime AND atitool at the same time, no errors detected - have been looping the lost planet PC test demo several times over, no errors - ran memtest, no errors detected after 2 full passes - re-installed windows XP with all windows updates - followed faq/support as listed on steam to troubleshoot the problem Does anybody have any ideas what might be going on? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 12, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 12, 2007 If your system is stable with other intensive operations, but crashes with only 1 game, then I would suspect the game or a video driver issue. You may want to check with the game publisher and also make sure you have the latest bios for the MOBO and also the latest video drivers.
