Burn the ISO image to an CD-ROM disk. Shut your system down. Install two sticks and restart. Enter your BIOS. Load system setup defaults, save setup defaults, set your Vdimm (DRAM Voltage) to 2.2v (for Version 1.xx) or 2.1v (for Version 2.xx) and restart. Enter your BIOS and set to the below settings. Save settings and shut down. Insert the second set of DRAM. Restart. Multiplier = 10 FSB = 266 DRAM = Unlinked and set to 800Mhz Memory Timing FSB - Memory Clock Mode: Unlinked CPU FSB: 266 CPU Multi: 10 DDR FSB: 800 tCL: 4 tRCD: 4 tRP: 4 tRAS: 12 Advanced Memory Settings tRRD: 5 tRC: 24 tWR: 6 tWTR: 8 tREF: AUTO tRD: 7 tRFC: 42 Async Latency: AUTO CMD: 2T CPU Spread Spectrum: Disabled PCIE Spread Spectrum: Disabled MCP PCIE Spread Spectrum: Disabled SATA Spread Spectrum: Disabled LDT Spread Spectrum: Disabled CPU Internal Thermal Control: Enabled Limit CPUID MaxVal: Enabled Enhanced C1 (C1E): Enabled Execute Disable Bit: Enabled Virtualization Technology: Enabled Enhanced Intel Speedstep Tech: Enabled LDT Frequency: 5x PCIEX16_1 Frequency (Mhz): 101 PCIEX16_2 Frequency (Mhz): 101 PCIEX16_3 Frequency (Mhz): 101 SPP<->MCP Ref Clock, Mhz: Auto Voltages Vcore = Auto Vdimm (DRAM Voltage) = 2.2v (for Version 1.xx) 2.1v (for Version 2.xx) Termination Voltage = Auto 1.2v HT: Auto NB Vcore: 1.5v SB Vcore: Auto CPU VTT: Auto Boot to the optical drive with the memtest disk and allow for two full passes. Results? Once you are stable at 800Mhz, then I can show you how to use the overclock to gain maximum performance from your DRAM. First we need to find your stability though. Psyche
I have do, all that you recommended. and my memory now is really stable at 800 Mhz, with listed settings. but two things.. Chipset, which is labeled "Rog" - is very hot! and how to make memory working at it's rated speed "8500"? i have no idea, what kind of cooler is compatible with "Rog" chipset, which need to be cooled, with some additional cooler. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 12, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 12, 2007 That MB may not run 4 modules at DDR1066 but to make sure its not a failing module I would test them one at a time at the tested settings.

The 680i is a VERY hot chipset. You need to look for additional cooling. To get the DRAM to run at 8500 you must overclock the MCH by linking the DRAM with the CPU. However, with the 680i and 4 DRAM banks I do not advise an overclock unless you use some good cooling on the Northbridge Memory Controller Hub. Otherwise, 800MHZ with 4-4-4-12 is a far better way to go. Psyche
Which mainboard do you recommend to use with my memory? GA-X38DQ6 will work with my memory? or GA-N680SLI-DQ6 works with my memory at rated speeds? I will change my motherboard, and really need your recommendations!!! Waiting answer. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 15, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 15, 2007 Either MB will work with those modules but the limitation with 4 modules is the same with any of these MB's.
DerekT
Either MB will work with those modules but the limitation with 4 modules is the same with any of these MB's. As RAM GUY says. This limitation is with both Nvidia AND Intel chipsets. You will have to overclock to gain even close to 8500 speeds with 4 DRAM banks populated.
