Wing Fat
I installed an HX 520 today, which went fine but the power supply gets really warm to the touch, especially in the rear (where the modular cables plug in). Is this normal? After a couple of hours it became almost too hot to touch (and this was under a minimal load, just Web browsing). I read some other posts about the heat but I can't find out if this is normal or not. Several posts say you should run the power supply removed from the case to determine if it's case cooling or not. I didn't do this, however the power supply the computer came with (a Dell) generates no heat whatsoever to the touch. Also, I removed the HX 520 and installed an Antec 500W and that is completely cool to the touch also, so based on the night-and-day difference between the HX 520 and the other power supplies I tried I don't think it's my case. Wing Fat
Okay thanks. I was actually hoping some other HX520 users could give me their opinion on how hot this PSU should run.
