tompaine
I just bought a Poweredge SC1430, and I got 2 sticks of memory from a well known online retailer. I got 2 2 gig sticks of Corsair memory, and the sticker telling me what it is is kinda a few centimeters off from where it is on the other stick I put them in, and the dell halts, saying one of the sticks is 1 gig, the other 2 gig, mismatch. I reversed the order and it halts, saying 2 gb, 1gb, mismatch The stick the dell claims is 1GB labels read as follows CM75FB2048-667/SD 2GB 2RX4 PC2-5300F-555-11-E0-D0 (Barcode) 07160477 -473404 It has the following #s on the back of the heatsink D35173-001 REVC FCT2642 22R71-391-0A REVA FCT2640 The 2GB stick label read as follows CM75FB2048-667/SD 2GB 2RX4 PC2-5300F-555-11-E0-D0 (Barcode) 07373438 -979457 This project has been delayed 4 weeks already over getting memory. I bought only 1 stick before, misreading the site and thinking it was a 2gb kit, and they UPS lost that package.... this is the 3rd stick of memory they've sent out. Please help!!!!! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 12, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 12, 2007 Have you tried the modules individually? Also, please make sure your Dell system has the latest available bios.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 12, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 12, 2007 I am not clear on something, how can you get a miss match error when you only have one module installed? Are you trying to mix these with the memory that came with your system, and are you sure that is the right memory for that system? I am asking because we do not have that model of system listed on our memory configurator.

Are you trying to mix these with the memory that came with your system, When I put only one module in slot one, it detects slot one, and complains that there must be a match in slot 2, and halts with a MISMATCH error. I can't get past a system halt with either module, as the original system came with matching 512mb modules. Crucial's Configuator: Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300,DDR2 PC2-4200 with a maximum of 2GB per slot Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 14, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 14, 2007 According to Dell's spec page for the P/E SC1430 those modules should work with out problems. I would try and turn on the system with no memory installed and then turn it off and install just our modules and go to BIOS setup and load setup defaults and then exit saving changes and see if the system will pass http://www.memtest.org.
