YO!

Need some help here.

Thought I' upgrade my memory slightly and got

2x 512MB VS PC3200 CL2.5

However it causes my graphic X1950Pro to hang after a few minutes.

It does not matter if it´s in a game or waiting on the desktop doing nothing.

If I replace with my old memories (Samsung PC2700 512MB) it all works fine again!

Have tried to run with all mems, with different slots but no difference.

Ausus P4P800-E Deluxe

P4 2.66Ghz S478

X1950Pro

EDIT:

I noticed that the processor has a FSB of 533

Does that mean I should use no higher than PC2700?

Does that matter or should it be ok?

The MOBO does support FSB800/PC3200

Acc to Kingston one should use only PC2700 when havin FSB533

Those motherboards will have no problem with a 533Mhz FSB Processor (133 X 4 QDR) and PC3200 DRAM (200 X 2 DDR). Please do what is advised...

  1. Shut the system down.

  2. Remove the power cord

  3. Open the case and remove the round CMOS battery

  4. Remove all DRAM

  5. Wait ten minutes

  6. Re-insert the round CMOS battery

  7. Insert the two sticks of New DRAM

  8. Restart the system

Boot to Memtest and run the program for two full passes.

Results?
