Definitive Q6600(G0)+Striker Ex+8500C5D questions

Hi, this will be my first and I hope to not fill the forum with same old questions the only thread for me.

Well until I trade my 4 x 1GB of cm2x 1024 8500 c5d v1.2 with another 2x 2gb i'm trying to find the best and stable configs for this motherboard processor and ram.

I'm using 3gb only to avoid problems in the mobo.

Ok so here we go, do I need to overclock something so that my ram work in all it's glory ?

The ram voltage should be 2,1 ?

5-5-5-15 ?

tRC 28 ?

QDR 1066 ?

DDR 533 ?

No changes in anything in the cpu, so runing 2.4ghz

The power suply is thermaltake toughtpower 1000w (think it's enough)

The cpu fan is the default core 2 quad fan

I'm about to receive thermaltake kandalf lcs so this will improve things a bit.

Geforce 8800 ultra

Anything else I should change in the default striker bios ?

Having problems with my psu or vga, when I clear this up i'll do the test until them, can you explain me up

4-4-4-12 800 is better them 5-5-5-15 1066 ?

Striker is a very strange board so I would set in QDR 800 and DDR 400 ?

lowing down fsb but getting faster on latency ?

Another thing to add is that I don't have a ram cooler, will this increase too much my ram temp ?

It's not that it is better. It's that you will very likely find issues with running at the full speed (of a Twin Pair) with all four banks populated with DRAM and still expect the speed of a Twin Pair. Even when it does work, often there are DRAM issue that will show up in the future.

You are running at 2.1V and should have no problems with that voltage and thermals.

You set QDR to 1066 unlinked and DDR 800

Download memtest from http://www.memtest.org and extract the ISO image. Burn the ISO image to an CD-ROM disk.

FSB - Memory Clock Mode: Unlinked

CPU FSB: 266 (QDR 1066)

CPU Multi: 9

DDR FSB: 400 (DDR 800)

tCL: 4

tRCD: 4

tRP: 4

tRAS: 12

Advanced Memory Settings

tRRD: Auto

tRC: Auto

tWR: Auto

tWTR: Auto

tREF: Auto

tRD: Auto

tRFC: Auto

Async Latency: Auto

CMD: 2T

Voltages

Vdimm (DRAM Voltage) = 2.1v

Termination Voltage = 1.4v

1.2v HT: Auto

NB Vcore: 1.40v

SB Vcore: Auto

CPU VTT: Auto

Boot to the optical drive with the memtest disk and allow for two full passes.

Results?
