LukeT
Hi there, I recently decided to upgrade my Abit Asus AS8-V from 1GB (2x512MB) DDR3200 to 2 GB I purchased the product shown in the link below - http://www.foxcomp.com.au/ProductDetail.asp?ID=219 So I installed the two new sticks in DIMM slots 1 & 3 and left the old ones in - after doing so the system became unstable and would crash leaving a black screen of death, usually after I try and run a graphics intensive program like NWN2 or CIV4. I've tried running the system with just the new RAM alone but it still behaves erratically and have cleared the CMOS and tried running it again to no avail. I suspect that I have to change some settings in the BIOS but I unsure where to begin as I am not that hardware savvy. Any advice is very welcome :o:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 7, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 7, 2007 Please make sure that you have the latest bios for your MB and then load optimized defaults and set the Dimm Voltage to 2.5 volts and then test the modules individually with http://www.memtest.org
