krulleboll
I bought a brand new HX520 PSU today and installed it. I powered the computer and went into the BIOS setup to check that my hard drives were properly detected. After spending 2-3 minutes in the BIOS setup, the PSU said BOOOM! A quite loud explosion sound made me fell of my chair and the computer shut down immediatly. I plugged out the power cable the next nano-second. I was afraid the PSU had burned all my other components but I was lucky. The system is working fine with my previous PSU (Antec Sonata 380w original case PSU). For obvious reasons, I'm not going to do any further testing with the HX520 PSU. I will RMA it later this week. So, I'm wondering what might have happened? I'm not a newbie on "building" computers and I checked how all cables were connected before removing the broken PSU and I didn't find any obvious misstakes. Is it even possible to connect things in a wrong way?

krulleboll
Thank you for the fast reply. I live in Sweden and it will be very expensive and time consuming to RMA directly to you. I will try to RMA the unit in the store where I bought it, if you dont mind.
