Semp
He there, I recently built a new PC, all was going well. Booted fine with 2 Gig of RAM. Works like a dream. I used 1 pack (2 x 1Gb Sticks) of Matched Memory Corsair DDR2 XMS2. So i went out and purchased another pack of RAM (Same type) so i could go up to 4Gb System RAM. When i do this the system becomes very unstable and wont boot, crashes when in Bios. What am i doing wrong here? The book of words that comes with the MB says it supports up to 4 Gig. So i pull out the 2 gig thats currently in, and boot up with the new 2 sticks of RAM in the same slots the others were in, and this works fine, so its not a faulty pack of RAM. Current MB settings are on on default...HELP/Suggestions welcome. Semp
DerekT
You do not specify what speed your DRAM is. Is it 6400? If so, enter your BIOS and set your DRAM to 667Mhz. The issue is that your motherboard's memory controller can not load and access with 4GB as fast as it did with 2GB.
