TWINX1024-3200C3PT Dead

I have a total of 3GB Corsair RAM. The above TWINX1024-3200C3PT and TWINX2048-3200C2PT.

I was running the UT3 demo and suffered a system crash. I was getting loads of errors and my system would not boot. I took out the 2x512mb sticks and my system would not boot. I removed the 2x512mb and fitted the 2x1024mb and my system booted.

I downloaded Memtest86+ and fitted all 4 sticks and got 5 million + errors. I removed the 2x512mb sticks and ran memtest86+ and got no errors. As I said the system will not boot with the 2x512mb so I cannot test them.

So it looks like the 2x512mb are dead. I live in the UK so what's next?

Thanks

OK did what you asked and here is my results I will call the 2x512mb sticks Stick 1 and Stick 2

Stick 1 would not let the PC boot all the fans come on but the system will not POST.

Stick 2 lets the PC boot and it POST's, ran the test for 3 hours and got no errors

So Stick 1 is faulty. Now what?

Thanks

Hi

My replacement RAM turned up JUST before Christmas (Thanks) so it has sat in my computer room till a couple of days a go.

I installed the new RAM and the POST screen showed it as 3GB. Windows seemed to load ok but locked once the Desktop had loaded.

I removed the new RAM and everything booted ok. I ran MemTest 86 on the new RAM and I get a load of errors.

I booted with the new RAM in single sticks 1 stick boots fine and MemTest's ok the second stick will not boot and all I get a Single BEEP with approx a 4 second delay between each BEEP.

So it looks like my RMA RAM is faulty.

I would recommend that you load setup defaults in your BIOS, set memory voltage to 2.75v and then test the new modules one at a time in memtest. It is very unlikely that both modules would fail at the same time. If one of the modules fails and the other works, then we will need to replace both of them for you. However, if you get errors with both of them, that would usually suggest some other problem.

Hi

When I got the the new RAM I did do a BIOS reset.

I installed the new RAM and test both stick's separately ONE stick worked fine and the other would not boot my system I get a BEEP noise with approx 4 second gap.

Like I have put in my previous post.

Thanks
