All,

Please provide input and/or suggestions on the new build I’d like to order this upcoming week. Please note any issues with the Striker Extreme and Corsair Memory I've selected. The purpose of this build is for gaming at 1600x1200 playing the following:

Crysis

FEAR

Doom 3

Bioshack

This will be my first SLI build.

Important Components:

(2) EVGA nVidia 8800Ultra Superclocked GPUs –

Windows XP Professional 32-bit and Vista 64-Bit Dual Boot

I “may” upgrade to a 30” Dell 3007WFP-HC monitor within a few months as well. I’ve been reading up on challenges with Striker Extreme motherboards and it seems as though having a good power supply, ensuring RAM is compatible along with quality parts should reduce the likelihood of issues booting the system. I plan on performing an overclock if possible on AIR, but I’m not an extreme overclocker by any means.

Anyone see any obvious compatibility issues or concerns?

I appreciate all the feedback and comments.

Thanks

I would personally go with the R150's. They are far quieter. I would not go with that processor. If you can get a Q6600 (G0), you will find an easy 3.4Ghz overclock on that system. You will save yourself a lot of money :)

You might wish to look at the new 8800GT's and use them in SLi. I have just purchased one for testing and it is phenominal. A non overclocked 13000+ 3DMark06. These are the new G92 and rock.

Considering the price of these boards, you may wish to go with them and get some aftermarket cooling (they are noisy. The one I bought (EVGA Superclocked 650/1850) cost $250.00.

The 8800GTX/Ultras are of the G91 core and 92 is a die shrink with revised algorithms.
