daws0n
Hey guys, I've just installed a matched pair of XMS corsair 1gb sticks into my MSI Neo4 Platinum mobo. The SPD reports the wrong latency settings, so I set them manually to 2-3-3-6, and adjusted the voltage to 2.75 and change the command rate to 1t. All is stable on memtest+ and the pcs running fine. I'm just a bit curious about another setting in the MSI bios called "aggressive timing". This apparently lowers the TRC value to 7 (instead of 11), and raises the DRAM Idle Timer from 16 to 256. Is this ok for the corsair XMS to handle? Am I likely to see much performance increase? Thanks, Dawson
DerekT
Download Memtest from http://www.memtest.org. Set the timings to aggressive and Memtest. Look at the Memory Bandwidth setting in Memtest. This is the uncached benchmark of the DRAM. Then remove the setting and repeat. Results? Run for a few full passes. Stable?
