JTH182
I currently have two sticks of CMX512-3200LLPT XMS3205v1.1 in my Gigabyte 8knxp MB. I'm looking to add two more sticks to raise my system to 2GB. I found a pair of CMX512-3200LLpt XMS3205v1.2 Will this be an issue?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 2, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 2, 2007 We can not guarantee that they would be compatible, however there is a good chance that they would be. One thing to keep in mind is that you may have to lower the memory frequency to DDR333 with four modules on that board.
JTH182
So you're saying my best bet is just to find two 1GB sticks and get rid of the 512's?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 2, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 2, 2007 You will most likely have better performance running the 2x 1GB modules in the system.
DerekT
That's the move I would make. However, if you already have 2 more 512's then drop the bandwidth and use them. If you only have 2, the selling them and buying 2 X 1024 will result in a far more snappier system.
