msny
What's compatable with this Shuttle? The configurator did not list this mdel. DDR2 677 is fine. Thanks!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 31, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 31, 2007 Yes and I would suggest VS2GBKit667D2 with that system but it should work with one set of Twin2x2048-6400C5DHX as well.
rob670
I have the same Shuttle Barebones. Trying to use TWIN2X2048-6400 but will boot only if I use one stick. Two wont work. Flashed to latest BIOS which allows for CAS latency settings but I dont know values for many of them....I looked at the compatability page and didnt find any 800MHz RAM for this Shuttle..... Any idea what values to use for: TRTP- TWR- TRFC- (ns) TWTR- TRC- TRRD-
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 15, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 15, 2008 I would rma the system, and did you set the memory Voltage to 2.0 Volts? And the Part number I suggested was very specific Twin2x2048-6400C5DHX as long as there is clearance they will run at default voltage. Other wise the Value Select would be the only part to use. rob670
Voltage set at 1.9 A) RMA the SN68SG2 only? Any reccomendations for a different model? Thinking about the SK22G2 or SN27P2...........? Or B) RMA the TWIN2X and get the slower stuff...........and hope it works in this SN68SG2 . I was going to try the settings listed in the "testing parameters" for the TWINX2x2048-6400 (as a last resort).
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 15, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 15, 2008 I was going to try the settings listed in the "testing parameters" for the TWINX2x2048-6400 (as a last resort). That should be the first thing that you do! And I would test the modules in another system to be sure.
rob670
RAM GUY, Thanks for the help. I still dont understand the SDRAM BIOS settings. If you choose "manual settings" you must pick a value for each listed setting. Its either auto for all or manual settings for all...cant to both. Many are addressed by you in other posts (but not all). BIOS SDRAM settings are dimmed when in auto mode. Switch to manual mode, do the "auto" settings stay and go bright? These settings I need help on: TwTr Command Delay Ø The Choice: 1~3 bus clocks. Trfc0 for DIMM0 Ø The Choice: 75ns, 105ns, 127.5ns, 195ns, or 327.5ns. Trfc1 for DIMM1 Ø The Choice: 75ns, 105ns, 127.5ns, 195ns, or 327.5ns. (Twr) Write Recovery Time Ø The Choice: 3~6 bus clocks. (Trtp) Precharge Time Ø The Choice: 2~3 clocks. (Trc) Row Cycle Time Ø The Choice: 11~26 bus clocks. (Trcd)RAS to CAS R/W Delay Ø The Choice: 3~6 clocks. (Trrd)RAS to RAS Delay Ø The Choice: 2~5 clocks. (Trp)Row Precharge Time Ø The Choice: 3~6 clocks. (Tras)Minimum RAS Active Time Ø The Choice: 5~18 bus clocks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 16, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 16, 2008 Load setup defaults and then set these settings: Memory Voltage: 2.0 volts TwTr Command Delay: BIOS Default. Trfc0 for DIMM0 Ø BIOS Default Trfc1 for DIMM1 Ø BIOS Default (Twr) Write Recovery Time BIOS Default (Trtp) Precharge Time BIOS Default (Trc) Row Cycle Time: 24 bus clocks. (Trcd)RAS to CAS R/W Delay: 5 clocks. (Trrd)RAS to RAS Delay BIOS Default (Trp)Row Precharge Time: 5 clocks. (Tras)Minimum RAS Active Time: 15 clocks. rob670
Well the settings didnt work. Still works better with one stick. It did run on 2 sticks but was locking up and generally slow. I am about to RMA the TWIN2X2048-6400 and get the TWIN2X2048-6400C5DHX. How confident are you the C5DHX will work? By the way. The latest flashed BIOS is supposed to have added a setting for CAS latency but I didnt see it.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 16, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 16, 2008 If you are having that much of a problem I would suggest VS2GB667D2 or VS1GB667D2 for that system.
