rlkam
I doubt it but does the Nautilus GPU block fit the new 8800 GT video card? I currently have the Nautilus 500 water cooling system with dual Nautilus GPU water blocks for my 2 7900 gt's. If not, Does Corsair have GPU blocks that do fit or are planning on having any? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 30, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 30, 2007 Unfortunately we do not manufacture a water block that would be compatible with the 8800 series cards.
rlkam
Do you plan on it in the near future?
DerekT
I just picked one of these cards up. They do NOT have the formfactor of the 8800GTS/GTX. They have a board pin form factor of the 7800/7900.
rlkam
Derek, does that mean it looks like the GPU block for the 7900 series will fit the 8800? Thank you to you and RAM GUY for your responses. I'm sure that there are a lot of people interested (or will be interested) in this subject. rlkam
RAM GUY, I am reading a 8800GT review from VR-Zone and it states the following: "A piece of good news for the enthusiast, the 8800GT comes with similar mounting holes as the the 7900GT/GTX as illustrated below!!! Enthusiast can recycle their Zalman VF700/900 and other similar coolers with their new 8800GT! woohoo!" The link is: http://sg.vr-zone.com/articles/Nvidia_GeForce_8800_GT_Review/5369-12.html#Scene_1 Does this mean that I can use the Corsair Nautilus GPU blocks? Maybe it's just the GPU mounting screws that are similar. Oh, well. Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 31, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 31, 2007 At this time I am sorry I do not have any news but we are looking into this and the Cool Guy will post later when he has some information.
SpDFrek
Does this mean that I can use the Corsair Nautilus GPU blocks? Maybe it's just the GPU mounting screws that are similar. Oh, well. Thanks The mounting holes are the same. The component placement is different. Full coverage GPU blocks for the 7 series such as Corsairs will not cool all needed components. GPU only blocks that worked with the 7 series will work with the new 8800 GT cards.
rlkam
Thanks for the clarification, SpDFre@k. That's what I was afraid of.
