cxfusion3mp
Bought an outdated floor model Compaq because my homebuilt comp crashed. Upgraded it significantly, added a 2nd hard drive, video card, replaced the power supply, heat sink and added a few fans to the case. customized vista so it idles around 270-300mb's instead of 600. Now it's time for memory and I'm getting worried because of incompatibility problems my buddies have been having on newer model motherboards. This is my motherboard... http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00864922&cc=us Everest says i have this for memory now: Module Name Samsung M3 78T2953EZ3-CD5 Serial Number F11B5A66h (1717181425) Manufacture Date Week 2 / 2007 Module Size 1024 MB (2 ranks, 4 banks) Module Type Unbuffered DIMM Memory Type DDR2 SDRAM Memory Speed DDR2-533 (266 MHz) Module Width 64 bit Module Voltage SSTL 1.8 Error Detection Method None Refresh Rate Reduced (7.8 us), Self-Refresh Memory Timings @ 266 MHz 5-4-4-12 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 16-28-2-4-2 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR) @ 266 MHz 4-4-4-12 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 16-28-2-4-2 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR) @ 200 MHz 3-3-3-9 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / 12-21-2-3-2 (RC-RFC-RRD-WR-WTR) Trying to add another gig because well... vista's a hog even after I customized it and looking to reduce the lag on hellgate london :) The website for the motherboard says it can support ddr2 667 as well as ddr2 533. however, the corsair site says it will only support the 533. This is what the memory config recomends: VS1GB533D2 Memory Type » DDR2-533 (PC2-4200) Size » 1GB Latency » 4-4-4-12-2T Format » 240-pin DIMM Guess the question is should i play it safe and buy two of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145525 (same as what the site recommends) or will http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145098 work? also, if i purchased only one of the ddr2 533's, will it be compatible with my other ram or will i run into problems? Thanks in advance for the input! always trusted corsair ram in the past and i hope it will solve my memory problems.
