Troten
First of all, hey y'all. I have an issue. For some reason, my graphics card always runs on the 3d settings. Which means, it runs overclocked even in Windows, which causes some issues. What could be the problem? I have a Gainward 8800 GTS 640MB and as of now I've been able to solve this using ATI tool. Any other suggestions? Thanks mates.
TopGunSF
What OS are you using? If your using Vista and Aero is enabled that will cause your card to run in 3D mode, turning off Aero will solve the problem. Although, if your card running overclocked for a long period of time causes any kind of issue other then noise you may want to adjust your overclock. -Me
DerekT
Download RivaTuner: http://downloads.guru3d.com/downloadget.php?id=163&file=5&evp=2d213e528fb556c354432a3976bff55a Tutiorial & Articles http://www.guru3d.com/article/article/449/ This program will help you deal with your issues. I use it with my 8800GTX. I clock to 620/2000 at 3D Level and 300/2000 at 2D Level. It works like a charm. It works in either XP or Vista and allows you to overclock also in both XP or Vista. I run in 300/2000 in Aero with no issue. I also use it to run my fan at 100% at all times. 53C idle in XP and 57 idle in Vista.
Troten
Well, the issue that I had was that previously with Expertool, the system hanged after booting and after the restart it gave me a msg saying that the system crashed during the adjusting of the frequencies. The card runs at around 60 in 2d and 75 at 3d. And it's not that huge an o/c. Like 50 on the core and 50 on the memory. Plus, I have two 12cm fans hitting the card on the side...I'll try Rivatuner and let you guys know.
Troten
The thing still remains, that it always stays on 3d settings. Meaning a rise in temperature and, consequently, noise levels...
