milnen
Is there such a thing as Voyager GT rated speed for read/write. I have read many reviews stating that the rated speed is 34/28 MB/s (R/W). Is that true? I have Voyager GT 2GB, and I measured speed using HDD Tach. The results are in attachment.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 23, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 23, 2007 The read is a bit low but the write is above spec. so its hard to say for sure. How do you have the drive formatted and did you do a fresh format on it before you ran the test?
milnen
I did fresh format before test. I formatted the drive with FAT32 filesystem using right click->format in WinXP. I also tried to format to NTFS using USB Disk Storage Format, but the speed is the same. I got the same results on a Asus P5LD2 deluxe MB. You said that the write speed is above the spec. What are specs for read and write? Are the same chips inside every GT?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 23, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 23, 2007 Average for a 2Gig GT FV would be 21 MBs Sequential write and 34 MBs Sequential read. And no we use more than one memory and controller for this part. We can try replacing the drive if you like, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them.
