bfo
Hi all, I'm thinking to build a Gigabyte GA-P35T-DS3P with an Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850 - Quad Core FSB1333. Does the Corsair XMS3 DHX TWIN3X4096-1600C7DHX G - Twinx 4 Go (2x 2 Go) DDR3-SDRAM PC1600 (7-7-7-20-2T) will work with this system ? AFAIK This mobo is not referenced in the memory configurator yet ! Any advice ? Thanks in advance.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 23, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 23, 2007 Yes but you would have to over clock the CPU to run the modules at their tested settings.
bfo
OK, some feedback now. This setup works at 7-7-7-20 1.9V without issue - following a 24h continous Memtest run (no need to overclock the CPU as well). Just have to change memory timings and DDR3 voltage from default 9-9-8-20 1.5v to 7-7-7-20 1.9v manually in BIOS. The CPU runs with its default settings at 3.0Ghz (default CPU clock multiplier = 9) It seems to be stable up to 3.667GHz with air cooler by changing the clock multiplier from 9 to 11 - all other parameters are set to default or auto value, except for memory settings. The easiest way for a 20% overclocked system  [Edit:] @3.667GHz the system is stable but become too hot fully loaded running OCCT test.... have dropped down to 3.333GHz and reduced the default VCore a little bit to keep CPU Temp under 60°C fully loaded @3.333GHz. For higher speed I'll need to change my Zalman CNPS8700NT cooler for a better one.
