Asing
I cant seem to get the correct settings for this memory. Ive tried to set the timings as memory spec (3-4-3-9) but my comp just wont boot. It keeps turn on and off many times and Ive to reset CMOS to get over it. If I keep the setting as default which is 5-5-5-18, sometimes it can boot and sometimes it turns on for 1-2 sec then off again for few times then can boot to windows. Ive no idea whats wrong.. hope expert here can give me a hint. Ive provided pics of my BIOS setting to make it easier.. Thanks in advance ! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 23, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 23, 2007 Please make sure that you have the latest Bios version and then load setup/optimized defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.4 volts (+.6 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
Asing
Still cant get it right=( I run memtest and there was no errors. I set the timing spec (3-4-3-9), memory voltage +0.6v, FSB voltage +0.3v, and MCH voltage +0.2v. My system sometimes boot windows normally few times but sometimes it doesnt boot, keep turning on and off few times instead ! then when it boots, the memory timings back to default which is 5-5-5-18 Help me get the setting correct ! =( Thanks ! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 2, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 2, 2007 I would suggest that you test the modules at the settings I previously mentioned one at a time. If both modules give you the same failures there may be some other issue.
