TSX Case #266356

RMA Number 1028811

Part Number Received: CM2X1024-6400C4

Replacement Part Number: CM2X1024-6400C4 G

Hi, first of all thank you very much for sending back so quickly a replacement part. I had one of both memory modules of a TWIN2X2048-6400C4 which was failing and caused systems hangs.

I just received a new module today and placed it alone on my ASUS P5B-E motherboard to test it out. Unfortunately nothing works with this new memory. BIOS doesn't boot, no beep sound, nothing is displayed on the screen. I tried to change bios settings 'Write to Precharge delay' and RAM Voltage to 2.1V, but this doesn't help. I placed that one new memory module on another motherboard MSI P35 Neo2-FR, and there also BIOS doesn't boot up.

What is the difference between a CM2X1024-6400C4 and CM2X1024-6400C4 G?

I don't have any more ideas how to make it work, or what could be causing the problem...

Can you please help me?

The "G" indicates that the part is RoHS compliant, compatibility and performance are identical. Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard and then load optimized defaults and set the Memory Voltage to 2.1 volts and then set the timings to 4-4-4-12 (CAS-tRCD-tRP-tRAS) and then test the modules one at a time. If one of the modules is still failing, then please contact our customer service at 888-222-4346 and dial "0" or (510) 657-8747 and we will make sure we get you a working set!
