MsGr
I have a problem deciding which one to choose. They are priced closely in UK (difference is less than £10). Both are powerfull enough for my pc (Q6600,8800GTS,2*SATA HDD, 1*SATA DVD). I don't really care much about "modularity". So which one is better in terms of noise? I cannot find any reviews comparing these two...
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 22, 2007 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 22, 2007 You can find graphs which illustrate the noise level of both PSU's at the following links: VX550 - http://www.corsair.com/_images/charts/vx550w_noise.jpg HX520 - http://www.corsair.com/products/hx.aspx They are very similar, the choice is yours! MsGr
It is interesting that VX graph is given in watts and HX in percent... Still, let us assume that the system consumption peaks at 400W. As I can see VX 550 will be 24dBA, while HX 520 will be somewhere around 28-29dBA. So this basically means that VX will be quietier... And it is 10 pounds less... And has capacity of handling 30watts more... And is more energy efficient (according to the Corsair website). Tough choice :) :) :) Thank you! Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 23, 2007 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 23, 2007 If you don't care about modular cables, then the VX550 is definitely the one for you!
