Customer service has gone from great to horrible...

First of all, you gave me 3 RMA numbers for the TWIN2X2048-6400C4 memory kit and all 3 replacements you have given me failed on three separate retail Lenovo desktop computers that I have tested them on. Either MemTest86 fails right after the first pass or the computer won't boot up at all. Then if I put the replacement memory sticks on my computer at home that I built myself (Intel Q6600 cpu along with an ABit AB9 Pro motherboard) and run BOINC, the program always crashes until I remove it and replace the memory with another brand (********). No problems with that memory running at SPD and the default voltage. Now you're telling me to go back to the vendor and try to get a replacement from them? NewEgg is just going to tell me to go back to you guys and RMA it through you since the return period is over. Now I'm basically stuck with junk memory that won't work. Some kind of "lifetime warranty" you guys have here...

Please post all the RMA numbers you have so that RAMGUY can follow them up for you.

Yes Please, also if you can provide Case #s as well!

6400C4 modules would not be compatible with retail OEM systems as these modules would require that you set the memory voltage to 2.1 volts, and these systems will not allow these adjustments in the BIOS.

Please look up your system on our memory configurator for the correct modules you should use:

The problem looks to be the system you have will not let you set the tested settings manually and replacing the memory will not solve that type of an issue.

Can you manually set the tested settings of those modules and did you look your system up on our memory configurator?

According to your memory configurator, the "TWIN2X2048-C6400C4" is compatible with my ABit AB9 Pro motherboard. But if I insert both sticks of RAM into my motherboard, the computer will not boot and there's one, long BIOS beep that loops over and over again until I unplug my computer. The computer boots up fine if I uninstall the corsair memory and I insert another brand of RAM into the motherboard. If the computer doesn't even boot with the Corsair memory installed on the motherboard, how do you expect me to go into the BIOS and change the voltage settings?

Insert one Corsair stick and see if it will let you get into the BIOS that way to change the memory voltage setting. If not, use the other memory to get into the BIOS, change the memory voltage setting, and try one Corsair stick, see what happens.

You answer your own question.

Now, Corsair 6400C4 is a higher end DRAM and is of a higher standard spec than the JEDEC standard 800Mhz specifications.

http://www.jedec.org/download/search/JESD82-14A.pdf

The JEDEC DDR2-800 standard calls for timings of 5-5-5-15 with a voltage of 1.8V.

However, your DRAM is a higher end than the standard (as above) and needs additional Vdimm (DRAM Voltage). You need to insert a standard module that allows you to boot. Enter the BIOS and set the Vdimm (DRAM Voltage) to 2.1v. Then enter the DRAM Timings and set the timings to 4-4-4-12.

ie:

CL = 4

tRAS = 4

tRP = 4

tRCD = 12

Shut the system down. Remove the JEDEC standard DRAM and replace it with the 6400C4 DRAM.

Results?
