Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 18, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 18, 2007 You would need to check the manual for the correct slots to use and I would make sure that you have the latest BIOS and then load setup/optimized defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.0 volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.

DerekT
I did update my bios and now it always say that i need to press F1 fore default settings so it can start i wonder why ? any chance u have a tip fore that as well :) You need to do this before you make changes to your BIOS. So do this before you set the timings and voltage. Enter your BIOS. Load Fail-Safe Defaults. Save settings and reboot. Now you should not have to press F1 anymore. I am trying to set my voltage but i can cant change it is gray and i cant change it. what do i need to do so i can change it. Enter your BIOS Advanced BIOS Features: Frequency/Voltage Control D.O.T Control = Disabled Memory Voltage =1.9v Advance DRAM Configuration DRAM CAS# Latency = 5 DRAM RAS# TO CAS# Delay = 5 DRAM RAS# Precharge = 5 DRAM RAS# Activate to Prec =
mazan
I think i begin to hate this MB :/ ... Still get: Cmos checksum bad. And i got 2 choises F1 load setup F2 Load safe mode bios and continue. So always load safe settings so i can enter windows. and about this: D.O.T Control = Disabled dos'nt let me change voltage, but in D.O.T Controll menu i got some more tings like private 10%, comander 20% and so on. cant remember if it was in that order but i think u understand me. so atm i still run 1gb ram if i put the other one in i get blue screens all the time. Tnx m8 fore try helping me. //mazan
DerekT
I think i begin to hate this MB :/ It would have never been my choice. I think you need to RMA the motherboard. It is not performing correctly and you do not want to continue working on it to your frustration.
mazan
hmm ok i re flashed my bios 2 times and last time it seems like it worked. :) because i did also noticed some failed info on cpu hz and so. but now everything looks like it should and checksum dissapered. Just whanted to thank you fore help, i puted my second memory in dimm3 so now 1024 at dimm1 and 1024 at dimm3 and at boot up it say dual channel, and system seems working nice. but to rais my dimm volt still dosent work even after set D.o.T = disable but it says it run at 1.9v... much thanks fore taking time to me.. //mazan

mazan
well i was to happy to fast about it :( ... Still have issues with blue screens random when i use my 2 ram but never when i use 1 ... I tryed like u say with 5.5.5.18 -and computer never posted just restarted every 2-3 seconds. I tryed with 5.5.5.15 and it still random restart's but not as often when i used bios the main board was delivered with, so atm i run with 1 mem stick with auto SPD on it... So if i could find a solution to rais vdimm to 2.0volt u think that could solve my prob ? Cant understand why msi say it's a overclock board and deliver it with diffrent application to use in windows to change volt's and so on, but in bios i can't change it. Maybe i have missed something, but i cant find it in that case. So i have this mb msi p35 neo-f :http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=P35_Neo-F&class=mb" My main langue's is not english so maybe thats why i miss stuff :/ so if u have time or maybe u already now anything about this mb... maybe i cant change volt's on it?... Tnx //mazan

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 25, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 25, 2007 I would check the user manual that came with the MB and or call their tech support but you would need to set the memory Voltage to 1.9 Volts minimum. mazan
well i have tryed to call them at at the store where i both the mb, but no luck there ether, bad support he didnt even no anything at all. and my manual is no info at all on bios and settings, just 4 pages how to connect wire's and so in 4 laungue's. Ram Guy at ure second post u have paste this: SDRAM CAS Latency: 5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 5T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 5T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 15T SDRAM Write Recovery Time: 5 Write to Precharge Delay: 15 (If it's Listed) and Derekt told me 5-5-5-18 and when i try 5-5-5-18 it reboots every 3 second it never post eather. and i found this: http://www.corsair.com/_datasheets/TWIN2X2048-6400C5DHX.pdf it says 5-5-5-18 now i am a bit confused. ;) why it not even boots up with that setting... well i try too searh a bit more about it... tnx fore all help. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 25, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 25, 2007 The TRAS at 15 or 18 will not matter and would not cause that type of error. Did you test the system with http://www.memtest.org?
