Wildman95GS-T
I have never formated a floppy this way, only thru windows. Could you please explain in detail for me how to do this :(:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 19, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 19, 2007 You can contact the maker of the O.S. http://www.microsoft.com and they will be the best to support their O.S. or there are a few threads that I have posted "How To's" just search for them in the F.A.Q section. From a command Prompt try this syntax: Format A: /U

Wildman95GS-T
When i finally get a third module, do i leave the voltage at 2.8v ? For best performance, should i set the memory timing in my bios to by SPD or leave it auto and manualy set timing ?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 29, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 29, 2007 Yes and you might have to relax the timings to Cas 2.5-3-3-7 to make it stable with three modules.
Wildman95GS-T
Will changing the timing like that slow down the memory ?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 30, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 30, 2007 Increasing the latency may decrease performance, however with 3 modules there is more loading on the memory controller and you may need to relax the timings in order for the system to be stable. Wildman95GS-T
I am new to changing timing of memory modules, i have always just installed the ram and everything worked. When you say stability issues, what problems will i run into ? I have also not run memory test before, to me it seems logical if you are having problems but if not, it is like going to the doctor and asking him to find something wrong because i feel great. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 7, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 7, 2007 You do not need to adjust the memory timings, you can just leave them at the SPD (default). If you were running the modules at their tested lower latency timings, then you may need to relax them a bit to get 3 modules running in that board. Wildman95GS-T
I finally got my third module in, they were all built within a few months of each other, with the older timing of 2-2-2-5-1T. I tested each module by itself using Memtest86+ v1.7 (1 pass) and the latest one i purchased had 15 errors test #3 00008db0178 141.0MB, one of my original modules had 1 error test #6 000057add7c 87.8MB, the last one had no errors. I installed them all and memory timing is set to SPD, cpuz has timing at 2-2-2-5, same as tested speed. I am having no problems with my system, games are smooth no crashes or bsod's. Ran 3DMark05 with out any hitches. Not sure what to do, replace them all or keep plugging away until something goes wrong.
Wildman95GS-T
I have only one more question and i will leave you guys alone, my modules come with the wire clips on the heat spreaders, on my nforce2 motherboard the #2 and #3 sockets are very close, when the modules are installed the clips will touch the heat spreader of the adjacent module. Should i remove them or is it safe to run that way with them touching
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 19, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 19, 2007 No just leave the clips alone they will not bother anything.
