babychewie
I have a set of twin2x2048-6400c4 ram that is bad. With either stick or both sticks in the system the computer will not post. I had some other ram in the system and those sticks work fine. I ended up buying a new set of twin2x and it works with no problem. I put the non working sticks back in to verify and they still won't post. Just seeing what I need to do about getting these bad sticks RMA'd. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 17, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 17, 2007 It would be very unlikely that both modules would be faulty. Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard and then load optimized defaults and set the Memory Voltage to 2.1 volts and then set the timings to 4-4-4-12 (CAS-tRCD-tRP-tRAS) and then test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! Please allow memtest to run 2-3 passes on each module. If you still get errors, we will be happy to replace them! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. If they still won't post at their tested settings, then let's get them or it replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part! Or “Tech Support Express” and we will be happy to replace them or it, please note that you are posting from the forum!
babychewie
I played around with my voltages, it was already set at 2.1 and timing was at 4-4-4-12. I got one of the sticks to post with the voltage at 2.4v. I ran memtest on that stick and it had a ton of errors. I tried to run the other stick at 2.4v and it did not post. I put the voltage back to 2.1 and tried each stick separately and neither posted. Thanks for the help though!

babychewie
I've got a quick question. On my RMA # 1031365 I had sent in TWIN2X2048-6400C4 and I sent both sticks in. It showed in the e-mail that the quantity returned was 2. Today I got an e-mail about my shipment coming back to me, but on the quantity returned it only shows 1. Does this mean I am only getting 1 stick back? Or that I am getting 2 sticks, but 1 pacakage with 2 sticks?

babychewie
Cool, thanks for the reply. The part number on the invoice is twin2x2048-6400c4. So then I should be good. Thanks.
