Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 16, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 16, 2007 If you do not know the password there is no way to recover it. We can only replace it under warranty.

ywss
The corsair's homepage says: "Platform independent – Works on Windows, MAC and Linux platforms without the use of software". Are the MAC and Linux platforms able to read the data in the flash padlock without the password?
Wired
So for to be sure to undertsand well, il will lost the datas and the usb key became unasable ?Correct, if they replace it under warranty, which is 2 years for the Padlock, you would not get the exact same device back, and as such, would be blank. I will by it for my company and I want to be sure to make exact technical document and faq on it.Check out this thread: http://www.asktheramguy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62427 The corsair's homepage says: "Platform independent – Works on Windows, MAC and Linux platforms without the use of software". Are the MAC and Linux platforms able to read the data in the flash padlock without the password? No, as the password is on a chip, not in the storage area. Long story short, if you lose the password, you're screwed, and will have to get the device replaced.
