cellobrutos
Hi, I have an old ASUS A3N that I want to power up a bit. Apparently, max memory is 2GB, on 2 sockets. The memory configurator recommends using VS512SDS266 (512MB), and getting a couple of those would probably be alright, but I have a good deal on the 1GB version so I would rather consider buying a pair of VS1GSDS266 instead. Do you think it could be alright, although that one doesn't even appear in the memory configurator results? Thanks in advance, F.

This is not a bad older notebook and 2GB would certainly be preferable. I would take the notebook to where the deal is with the 1GB version and have them install to be clear all is working. Download memtest from http://www.memtest.org and burn the image to an optical disk. Then when the memory is installed, you can boot to the CD and make sure the DRAM works in your system. Make sure the CD boots to memtest before taking the notebook down. You don't want to have a non working boot to memtest at the place of purchase. My 2c at any rate. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 16, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 16, 2007 I am sorry but we do not offer a 1.0 Gig PC-2100 So Dim, the largest module we make would be VS512SDS266.
cellobrutos
Hang on, so what's the problem with VS1GSDS667D2? isn't it SoDimm? Did I misread something? F.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 16, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 16, 2007 That is a DDR2 module and would not be compatible with your system.
