poot1873
I've been given what I believe to be half of a TwinX kit, 1 stick of CMX512-3200LLPT. The SPD timings shoud be 6 2 3 2 but it won't run even boot up with those settings, giving a CMOS ROM error. The SPD timings show 8 3 3 2.5 and it does not even show the manufacturers name or part number like my other Corsair modules do on CPU-Z. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v186/pootang/CPUZ.jpg The memory does not look like its a copy, but I could be wrong, see the below photos. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v186/pootang/IMG_1370.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v186/pootang/IMG_1371.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v186/pootang/IMG_1376.jpg Do you think the memory could be faulty or counterfeit ? Wired
are you running them @ 2.75v?
poot1873
No 2.6v, should I change it to 2.75v ?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 16, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 16, 2007 Bump the voltage up to 2.75 volts, and let me know if you are still having problems running at 2-3-2-6.
poot1873
I've only options to set the voltage at 2.6, 2.7, 2.8 & 2.9v, no 2.75v. At 2.7 it still does not boot using 2-3-2-6 timings, still getting a CMOS Checksum error ? The system boots fine using my original Corsair memory. Wired
try 2.8 and 2.
poot1873
I've got it posting at 2.8 but only if I set the frequency to auto rather than SPD resulting with 166mhz rather than 200mhz. Why do you think the SPD does not set the ram to the correct settings ?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 17, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 17, 2007 I would suggest that you try the modules individually. If both modules will not function properly at the tested settings there may be some other issue, however if one works, and the other does not, we will want to have them replaced for you. poot1873
I cannot test both modules as I only have half of the twinX kit, the other module is missing/lost, I was given it by my brother, he thinks his other half may have binned it by mistake. poot1873
I tested the module on my other PC but the same timings occur, so I've submitted a RMA request.
