spiderlama
Has anyone put a couple of VS2GSDS667D2's in their 20" Aluminium iMac 2.4GHz? I used Corsair's "Memory Configuration" to find the memory, but I'd just like to know if anyone has used this configuration successfully. It beats paying for 4GB official Apple RAM (for ~$1200 AUD). Cheers

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 16, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 16, 2007 Please look up your system on our memory configurator if your system is listed then we will guarantee it will work but if its not listed I would suggest using the memory suggested by Apple . Thanks RAM GUY, but as I said I DID use the memory configurator. And what do you mean by guarantee? Money back etc.? I would just like to know of a successful combination of these two animals. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 17, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 17, 2007 There is no such model listed on our configurator, (20" Aluminum iMac 2.4GHz), and as I said if its listed we will make sure it will work. But I would not suggest or guarantee it will work if your system is not listed. And if the system is listed and you are having problem with a module that is listed we will get you memory that will work.
spiderlama
There is no such model listed on our configurator, (20" Aluminum iMac 2.4GHz)... The specific model listed on http://www.corsair.com/ (under Memory Configurator > Desktops and Servers > Apple) is "iMac 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo 20" Anodized Aluminium (MA877LL)". I assume that means you support it :sigh!: But I get what you're saying; you guarantee that if it's listed in the Memory Configurator it will work. I would just like to hear that someone else has successfully used this combination. In any case, with your guarantees I will be purchasing two VS2GSDS667D2s and putting them in. And I will report back!

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 18, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 18, 2007 I do not think you will have a problem, and I was looking for a notebook is why I did not see it. Just make sure that you get the latest BIOS from Apple for your system before you start.

Just make sure that you get the latest BIOS from Apple for your system before you start. Well I'll be buying the machine new, so I assume it has the latest EFI update (they don't use a BIOS, they have an EFI). The last version (1.2) was released 27th September. I actually think they will release a new update fixing other problems as well (hopefully the graphics drivers); that's why I am waiting for the new OS. Peace

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 19, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 19, 2007 Well I would check the BIOS or EFI version when you get the NB as in most cases the unit may not have the latest version.
