xam5
Ram Guy, I have recently put together a system. My Asus Striker and the Dominator ram sticks do not work together. My Asus will post with a cheap ram stick in it, and I can access the bios, but once I change the voltage and timing in the ram and then stick the ram in the computer does not even start up. Fans do not spin, and nothing powers up. I filled out an RMA form, but if you can help me without having to RMA the sticks that would be appreciated. I flashed by Asus bios to 1305 which is the latest. I have scoured these forums for advice and tried everything and still nothing. I am running a qx6850, with an xfx 8800 ultra extreme. Thank you. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 15, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 15, 2007 Please try the modules one at a time and I would clear the BIOS and see if it will post and let you set the memory voltage to 2.4 Volts and set SLI Ready memory to CPU Max. xam5
I tried the one stick at a time in the last slot with the voltage set at 2.4, but I did not set the SLI ready memory to cpu max I was unable to highlight that option, for some reason it is opaque and cannot be selected. I still would like to fix this problem without RMAing the sticks, because I know it will take a long time to process and return, but I need specific and detailed instructions on how to proceed. I have tried many different combinations to get this ram to work, most from your previous posts, still when I place your dominator ram into my motherboard nothing even remotely boots or starts. If there is anything that can be done I will do it before RMAing, but please provide me with a detailed list of things that can be done and how I would go about doing them, also if you have any questions for me please feel free to ask them and I will reply. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 16, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 16, 2007 Can you test the modules in another system, and if you try them one at a time and clear the BIOS with the CLRTC jumper will the system post?
xam5
Im sorry but I cannot test the ram in another system as no other system is available to me. If I clear the cmos properly with the jumpers and the button the system does not post. I cant use that memtest program as I cannot even start up with any dominator stick in the system. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 16, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 16, 2007 If the system will not post with other memory I would check for some other problem and if it will post with other memory then let's try replacing your modules, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them. xam5
ok, I know the system posts with other memory, and does not post with your memory installed in a variety of combinations. I already have an rma number and now i will send my sticks out, I just thought I might try to fix the situation without a return as it is time consuming but thanks for your help anyway.
