Scooby
I got 2 pairs of the Dominator PCC2 8500 and was wondering if it will play nice with Asus Maximus Formula that I'm ordering soon. If anyone got this combo, let me know how its going and if OCing what timing are you set at. TY;):

Dazz
They should work fine, Corsair uses ASUS boards as their test beds.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 15, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 15, 2007 Yes those modules will run great on that MB. And I will get it added to the configurator.
Scooby
Thank you guys for the confirmation. So far what are your impressions on this mobo? It look like a winner once they have a more stable bios update.
DerekT
It look like a winner once they have a more stable bios update. This is the main bone of contention right now. What is hardware issues and what can be smoothed out by BIOS revision. I personally would wait a few months to see what is resolved. At the moment, it is considered a hot but buggy board. Scooby
Like I said at the top post I have 2 sets (4 x 1GB sticks) of Dominator PC2 8500, will I have and real problems using the in Windows XP? I do know that Windows XP 32bit does not recognize all 4GB, I just want to know if their are any issue I should be aware of? Or should I just stick to using just the 2GB setup? Thanks;):
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 22, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 22, 2007 You would get best performance with just two modules, and with 4 modules DDR667 would be suggested as long as you have a 1066 FSB CPU.
The Fool
MB Maximus Fomula, CPU QX6850 G0, RAM ordered 2 kits 8500C5D (different retailers) OS XP Pro32bit incl. RAM switch and Ultimate 64bit In case of being lucky receiving versions up to 1.5 => keep 'em (1) Just to calculate chances, actual version is (2.1)?? (2) Never had any issues with Corsair kits, even when upgrading (except one 6400C4 kit did only "like" another ProMOS kit). As earlier versions C5D come along with GMH or GKX, will I have issues by combining (for example 1.3 and 1.3)? (3) Startup-method: Fit one kit in dual channel mode, upgrade BIOS, raise Vdimm and timings to specs and populate second kit after reboot? Is it necessary to start with one stick (regarding "known Maximus Formula issues")? (4) Am I recommended to go for a 8500C5DF quadkit instead (no Microns available)? => less performance Seems to me there is no "real native 1066 support" for this MB yet. Even RAM GUY did not give a straight advice for two 8500C5D kits. kind regards The Fool edit: sry mixed version and revision => correction
