Dazz
I have an ABIT IN9 32X MAX motherboard works fine in dual channel with my 2GB Dominator PC6400C4D i bought a further 2GB XMS2 PC6400C5 but i am unable to get them all working togeather, again the XMS2 works fine in dual channel. I have the XMS2 in channel 1 & 3 for dual channel and have the Dominator in 2 & 4 however it won't post, now i have the voltage set to 1.925 & manually selected 5-5-5-18 so that the dominator memory runs at the same speed as the XMS. Now if i remove one of the Dominator memory or XMS2 it will boot, post & run fine with 3GB but will be in single channel mode. Is there anything i can do? I wanted to buy a further 2GB Dominator memory but they are pretty rare for the PC6400 range for some reason, a few months back they where all over the place. They seem to be plentiful in PC8500 and onwards at this moment in time. Is there anything i can do? Throught i will add, Dominator XMS26400C4DHX v2.2 (1.9-2.1v) and XMS26400C5 v5.2 (1.9v) both seem to have PROMOS Chips. Got it working by manually setting 666MHz then put in the new stick it seems to boot an run fine. I have a new question is this issue due to having diffrent modules, or chipset limitation or Processor, which is a E4300

Dazz
Oh well i am sending them back to where i got it as Vista x64 does not like them at all and that was the reason i decided to get an other 2GB. I guess i will have to sell my Dominator memory off and get the 2x2GB versions. But they are really expensive at the moment.

Dazz
Yeah so it would seem, i know i had 1GB Cru_cial PC4000 Ballistix & 1GB Corsair XMS 4400 and they worked fine in dual channel on my old NF4 939. Ah how the times have changed. Do you think i have to go to 667MHz when all 4 slots are popluated or is it a compatibilty with the 2 types of modules? Windows XP worked fine at 711MHz which was the highest i tried but Vista X64 gave massive static kick back from login to shut down. I am a little niffed i had to completely dismantle my PC remove HSF then replace. Lernt my lession there now i have the Germini HSF point down my board rather then across. Also thanks for your reply much apprechated.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 15, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 15, 2007 With the CPU you have listed you would need to set the memory frequency at 266 MHz and then link the memory and over clock the CPU. But that is normal for that configuration.
Dazz
Well i sent it back as a compatibility issue, will have to sell of my Current PC6400 dominator memory and buy 2x2. Shame really as it's £200 for 2x2GB C5 memory and £120 for 4x1GB C4 memory :( £80 premium and with reduced latency.
