Has anyone got P5N32-E Sli and 8500C5D stable at 1066mhz??

Hi,

Has anyone been able to get this memory stable on this mobo at 1066? Have Corsair even tested that it runs at 1066 on the P5N32-E Sli board???

I've read tons of threads about stability problems but no-one actually has confirmed that they've been able to get it to run stable.

I'm running the latest BIOS v1205 with a Q6600 CPU. The memory runs stable as hell at the stock JEDEC settings (auto) for 800mhz. But, whenever i set it to the recommended settings of 5-5-5-15 with 2.2v and unlinked (in mem config) at 1066 I get BSODs either before windows boots or within the first 5 minutes of it running. So I then tried stepping the memory voltage up by 0.005v from 1.80v all the way to 2.25v. Still no stability. Strangely Vista lasted longest at a voltage of 1.85v??

I also tried setting the CPU VTT to 1.5v and the memory tRC from 22 to 30 after the above didn't work.

Can Ramguy or anyone confirm that this memory can actually run at 1066 on this board?

It looks as though either the voltage is being grossly misreported in bios or that the north bridge or CPU voltage is affected by increasing the memory voltage.

Anyone have any joy????

Tried some more settings with no joy. I seriously don't think this ram can be run stably with this mobo at 1066.

More details on my rig;

- Thermaltake 750W psu

- CPU, FSB etc at stock speeds

- Tried "Sli Ready" setting at disabled, expert, and CPUOC0%

- GPU ex disabled

- Spectrum spread all diabled

- other overclocking menu settings all disabled

I have the v2.2 qimondo dimms so hv done most testing at mem voltage of 2.1.

Interestingly I can get into Vista most times but the voltage on the northbridge (set to auto in bios) is affected by altering the mem voltage - nb goes from 1.2v at 800mhz to a uncomfortably high 1.54v at 1066mhz.

Memtest in windows gives errors within 5 mins and i eventually get bsod.

Anyone got this combo stable? If so what r ur settings in detail.

Methinks might have to wait for another bios update... or get rid of these dimms. A vista memory rating of 4.9 at 800mhz is rubbish when everything else is 5.6+

I still have had no luck, but I just figured that is due to my inexperience with messing with oc settings in the bios. The closest I got I think was with 2.2v 5-5-5-15 2t and then a 30 for trc because I left it to auto. Made it into windows for about 5 minutes and then crashed. Most other settings will not get into windows or even post sometimes. Runs fine for me though on the auto settings of 5-5-5-18.

Wondering if I need the new revision of the memory or a bios update before I can get it. Still possible it is a problem with the memory itself, but it sounds like you are in a similar situation with yours.

Thanks deadman, ur the first person I've heard get it stable on any forum. What were ur exact settings? Did you change any voltages other than mem? Which SLi mode did u set it to, CPUOC0%? I can get mine to run in windows but only with many, many memory errors. And do u hv the v2.2 dimms? Last, did u fix all the voltages and how hot is ur northbridge running?

Ramguy, do u reckon i should rma my dimms? Despite the fact that they run perfectly at 800...

i reckon it's a voltage prob with this mobo... the nb shouldn't run at 1.54v on auto when the mem is at 1066.... Having said that, corsair shouldn't recommend this ram for this mobo on their website if it doesn't work at spec!! See tyr's forum...
