Hose
The instructions for my new VX450 say, "if your mobo has a 4-pin socket, detach the 4-pin from the 8-pin cable, and plug the correct 4-pin to your mobo". 1. My mobo has a 4-pin aux. 2. The 8-pin does not look to be able to have the 4-pin detached. 3. There is a separate 4-pin connector, but it's not mentioned in the instructions. (Could it be Corsair added a 4-pin connector and never updated the manual?) It seems logical that I would just use the 4-pin connector, but it's not specified in the manual... I'm hoping someone can clarify so I don't torch my rig. :>) Thanks, Hose
Hose
Follow up... I read up on this issue on the net. Seems the most recent PSUs have both a 4-pin and an 8-pin... use whichever fits your mobo. I used the 4-pin and the rig didn't burst into flames! Corsair should update their instruction manual to remove the confusion. No response necessary.
