RDG42
I'm currently ready to order a new gaming system but I'm starting to get worried about the incompatibility problems with ram I have been reading on the Asus site ,and here. Can someone tell me if I'm going to be ok with combining the Asus P5KC Mob with Corsair DHX XMS2 Dominator Dual Channel 2048MB PC8500 DDR2 1066Mhz Memory? I don't want to spend the extra money if I can't achieve 1066Mhz. I'm not a "tweak" kind of person. I would prefer to put it together and it runs well, stock. I checked the memory configurator on the home page but it just lists DDR3 memory. If this comdination is not good, I'm open to new ideas as I have'nt purchased anything yet. I'd like to stay with the P35 intel chipset for the MOB. Thanks for the help, Ron
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 12, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 12, 2007 There is no problem that I know of, just make sure that you get the latest BIOS and load setup defaults and then set the proper settings and if you try to install more than one set of modules you will have to slow the memory frequency down to DDR800.
