SteveCG
New to all this so looking for some advice. This is the set up I have bought and will like to be able to run stable. Asus P5N-E Sli (bios 0703) Core 2 Duo E6850 TWIN2X2048-6400C4 G (2 packs, 4GB total) EVGA 8800GTS 320MB superclocked Hiper Type-M 730 psu Seagate ST3160815AS Vista home premium 32bit I can get this running with 2GB memory installed (yellow sockets) but as soon as I install the other two sticks I can't get it to post. Removing 2GB allows me to restart but runs a chkdisk utility and then back in to the OS. I've had a look around the forum and found resolved issues using 2GB but I would like to use 4GB. Can anyone suggest some stable memory settings in order to run the 4GB. Many Thanks Steve
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 12, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 12, 2007 2.1 Volts at DDR667 and just let the BIOS set the timings and set the NForce SPP Voltage: 1.5v and make sure SLI ready memory is disabled and Command Rate is set to 2T. OK, I've changed all the settings except for NForce SPP voltage to 1.5v I can't find this setting in the bios - can you give me a clue as to where it is or will it be called something else. Thanks again Steve
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 12, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 12, 2007 Might be called NB Core Voltage:?
SteveCG
OK found NB core voltage but I only have five choices: Auto 1.208 1.393 1.563 1.784 Should it be 1.563?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 12, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 12, 2007 I would try the next setting up from default should be 1.393 as 1.2 would be default.
SteveCG
Great - first time booted with 4GB. Is it advisable to run memtest or should I just see how things go?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 13, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 13, 2007 You can test it with http://www.memtest.org for sure, if its not stable it might corrupt the hard drive so yes I would suggest it.
SteveCG
Ran memtest overnight with no errors  Have had an evening of on line gaming with no problems whatsoever and system feels very stable. Just wanted to feedback that those settings are looking pretty good and also to thank you for your time.
