Deadknight
I have 2 CM2x512A-4300C3 and 2 CM2x1024-5400C4 CPU is Intel Pentium D 830 @3GHZ Mobo is MSI P6N SLI Platinium No overclock is present. I bought my second pair of ram newly and im running this 4 rams together now. I havent had a time test stability but till now nothing bad happened. I have 2 questions 1) Does it make any problem with rams to run at different timings. My 512 pair runs at 3-3-3-8, and second pair runs at 4-4-4-12, CPUZ shows that all run at 3-4-4-12 and their speed is 533MHZ, is it bad choice to use them together? Im developer and i need lots of ram. 2) Since 4-4-4-12 ram is running at 533, can i use it at 3-3-3-8? If i can what voltage of rams can be? I see some guy running these at 530@3-3-3-9 but i dont know voltage setting of him. 3) If i cant do second one how much i can drop ram timing and what can voltage be? Thanx for reply

Im developer and i need lots of ram. It's never a good idea to mix and match DRAM as the problems can be great and time consuming. However, that being said, if you are stable with memtest (http://www.memtest.org) then you are good for the go. 2) Since 4-4-4-12 ram is running at 533, can i use it at 3-3-3-8? If i can what voltage of rams can be? I see some guy running these at 530@3-3-3-9 but i dont know voltage setting of him. You need to default to the highest DRAM timings and lowest DRAM throughput . Considering you will be lucky if you get this setup stable at all, you need not to worry about the speed of the timings since in your programming you will need DRAM capacity far more than DRAM speed. So set to your lowest throughput and highest timings of the slower DRAM. Test with memtest to find your best throughput. 3) If i cant do second one how much i can drop ram timing and what can voltage be? You need to test this to find out yourself. Set the DRAM to 2.1v and then test with memtest. If stable at the DRAM Auto settings for timings, then you can begin to lower latencies to see how low you can go with stabilty. If you program, stability is number 1. You don't want your system to crash to the desktop or a STOP event in the middle of a link now, do you? :)
