RMAing an 8000UL module

Hi guys, I have 4 * 512MB XMS28000UL modules and 1 has decided to die on me (many errors in memtest and system instability with it installed). I called Corsair support about replacements and they said that they would replace the module with an 8500 as the 8000UL is discontinued, however I'm worried about compatibility. I prefer tighter timings rather than MHz overclocking as I get better results, which is where the 8500 won't be able to keep up with my 3 other 8000ULs. Also, I'm not sure if mixing modules is a wise idea, so I just wanted somebody to confirm whether this was a good option or not?

You would not want to mix and match these modules, you will want to get the entire set replaced. Please contact our customer service at 888-222-4346 and dial "0" or (510) 657-8747 for possible replacement options.

Great, cheers for the reply RAMGUY and confirming what I thought. Would you mind if we discussed the replacement set amongst ourselves and I did the RMA form online rather than calling up customer services? I'm a bit hesitant to call them as 1) they were the ones who told me in the first place that replacing the module with an 8500 would be fine even when overclocking, and 2) I live in the UK and would rather not call up a number in the USA again.

Our RMA department would need to handle your RMA. If you like, I can have someone in our RMA department contact you directly. Just email ramguy@corsairmemory.com with your contact information and a good time to call, and I will have someone get in touch with you. Please include a link to this thread and put "ATT: Ramguy" in the subject line.

Hi RAMGUY, still haven't received a phone call. The time difference will pose a bit of a problem as right now its 10pm here in the UK and 2pm in the states. Would it be possible to arrange a phone call soon? Otherwise as soon as possible tomorrow?

Hi RAMGUY. Unfortunately I was out yesterday evening, however I spoke to my family and they said they did not receive a phone call or a message. I also don't have an answering machine so could they have called somebody else by mistake?
