Rajveer Posted October 10, 2007 Share Posted October 10, 2007 Hi guys, I have 4 * 512MB XMS28000UL modules and 1 has decided to die on me (many errors in memtest and system instability with it installed). I called Corsair support about replacements and they said that they would replace the module with an 8500 as the 8000UL is discontinued, however I'm worried about compatibility. I prefer tighter timings rather than MHz overclocking as I get better results, which is where the 8500 won't be able to keep up with my 3 other 8000ULs. Also, I'm not sure if mixing modules is a wise idea, so I just wanted somebody to confirm whether this was a good option or not? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Would you mind if we discussed the replacement set amongst ourselves and I did the RMA form online rather than calling up customer services? I'm a bit hesitant to call them as 1) they were the ones who told me in the first place that replacing the module with an 8500 would be fine even when overclocking, and 2) I live in the UK and would rather not call up a number in the USA again. Unfortunately I was out yesterday evening, however I spoke to my family and they said they did not receive a phone call or a message.
