mattg1
OK first i have just bought some new corsair ram. (Corsair 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 675MHz/PC2-5400 XMS Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL4(4-4-4-12) Heat Spreader Lifetime Warranty) I inserted the ram into my computer and it started then i got a bsod (blue screen of death) this said MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION *** STOP: 0x0000009c (0x00000000, 0xF76864050, 0xB2000000, 0x1040080F) So i thought maybe one stick is damaged so i tried each one in different slots alone and i got this message: MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION *** STOP: 0x0000009c (0x00000000, 0xBAB3C050, 0xB2000000, 0x1040080F) So at this point i know my ram doesnt work together or on its own, at this point im pretty pissed so i try mixing and matching one of my new ram and one of my old rams together to see if it worked which it did so im having to use 1.5gb instead of 2gb. This has got me totally confused why it only works with another stick of ram :S

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 10, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 10, 2007 With the CPU you have listed you would need to set the memory frequency at DDR533/266 MHz and I would set the memory Voltage to +.2 Volts as well. mattg1
First my processor is dual core 2.8ghz does that matter secondly i have a packard bell bios nad it confuses me :S
DerekT
That system will not work with higher end DRAM. You do not have the ability to raise voltages and need to use the Value Edition DRAM at DDR2 266 (533Mhz). What model is your Packard Bell? DerekT
That unit is not in Corsair's Memory Configurator so this is a job for RamGuy :D: I would say that you will need some form of Value Select DRAM with that board.
