Update on PSU no power

I made a thread maybe 2 months back and RAM Guy helped me out but now, still without the PSU working I want to solve and get to the bottom of this!

First things first, I had a DOA PSU which I got replaced and then I had the same problem with the second (No power) however this one worked on my dads new PC, Asus P5B Deluxe etc. I have a Winfast 939 board and with the PSU, I get no power regardless what is connected, however, I have a Saitek Eclipse 2 keyboard which has LEDs on to illuminate the keys, if I hold the power button in the lights come on for a second, go off for a second and repeat, so obviously it's getting some sort of power from somewhere! Obviously the PSU! I know that the PSU works as it worked on my Dad's PC. Why does it not work with my PC? It's not that old! Its about 2 years old technology which I know for a fact that Corsair would support! I can't see that it would be compatibility issues, I know about the missing -5v white wire maybe its that? I know it's not needed but maybe it is with my motherboard? My current PSU is a generic 350w which has the white -5v wire which does work, however as it is generic you can see why I do not want to continue running off of it!

Any help would be HIGHLY appreciated in getting to the bottom of this and why it doesn't work, I am happy to send off for another PSU via RMA if you would like me to do that. Thanks again guys.

As stated in the original post... I have and it works in another, I'm trying to figure out why the LEDs on my keyboard flash when I hold in the power butotn, obviously some power is getting to the USB peripherals.. Why not fully and to anywhere else?

There are some nforce-4 939 boards that will overvolt the 5v standby rail out of spec when booting, and on our power supply this will trigger over current/voltage protection and shut down the PSU to prevent damage to the system. Lower quality PSUs do not have overvoltage protection and will allow these systems to boot normally. It is possible that your board is not compatible with our power supply.

If you want to get it replaced, we can give that a try, however if the PSU is working fine on a different system, then that would point to the motherboard you are using. If you would like to get it replaced, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part! Or “Tech Support Express” and we will be happy to replace them or it, please note that you are posting from the forum!
