pbianco
I am thinking of purchasing the following: 2 2x1gb TWIN2X2048-6400C4 kits 4gb total GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R does anyone know if this combo will work together ?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 8, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 8, 2007 I would suggest Twin2x4096-6400C5DHX for best performance, with 4 modules you may be limited to DDR667.

Why are you suggesting the lower CAS speed memory for "best performance"? Is there timing problems at 4GB that one might not encounter at 2GB? Or does it have something to do with XP (x32)'s realistic limit of 3GB (or so) addressable?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 21, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 21, 2007 If you get 4 modules you may be limited to DDR667 and the reason I have suggested using a 4 Gig set of modules.
evolution2001
If you get 4 modules you may be limited to DDR667...Why is that??? Does it have something to do with timing / synchronization? You can be fairly technical with the answer if need be. I think I'll be able to follow ya... :):
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 21, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 21, 2007 There is more loading on the memory controller as you add more memory and most if not all MB's will not run as well with the system fully loaded. evolution2001
Hmm...that's interesting! Does Corsair have any white papers of sorts on that or are there some online references I can read more about this?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 22, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 22, 2007 Its not a memory issue just a limitation of most chipsets.
