KiLLa
My system: MSI P35 Neo-F Intel Core2Quad Q6600 2x Corsair 2x1GB DDR2 SDRAM PC6400 CL4.0 TwinX (=4gb) Sapphire Radeon X700Pro Samsung Syncmaster 225MW Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium The problem When I first tried to boot my system, I didn't get any video on screen. I tried booting with only 1gb ram and then changed the memory voltage in the BIOS from 1.9 to 2.1 (normal voltage for my memory). Now I am able to boot with 2gb ram. But when I try booting with 4gb (or 3gb) I still don't get any video on screen. I tried all the possible voltages and none of them work for 4gb. I also tested all the memory seperatly and they all work. Also tested all the dimm slots, they also work. I've already updated my BIOS to v1.3 but that didn't changed anything. I've also checked my psu and it's strong enough. I'm really desperate here, the shop where I bought the parts can't help me because they've never heard of this problem Summary: - Memory modules are not broken - Dimm slots are not broken - BIOS update didn't help - PSU is strong enough Thx in advance
DerekT
The memory controller can not keep up with the extra DRAM at the full rated speed. You will need to drop the speed of the DRAM a speed level ie. 1066Mhz to 800Mhz, 800Mhz to 667Mhz, 667Mhz to 533Mhz. You need to drop your 800MHz DRAM to 667MHz when you populate all four slots. Set the Vdimm to 2.1v.
