scb
I purchased and installed two 667 mhz DDR2 2 GB soDIMMs in my Acer Aspire. Everything works well enough, but Windows XP reports 2.67 GB of physical memory (probably due to some of it being allocated to the shared memory with the graphics adapter). Is this just mis-reported, or do I have to do something to the BIOS to have all of the memory available to share among running programs. I don't need 4 GB for a single process; I need between 0.5 and 1 GB for 2 to 3 processes. :(:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 8, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 8, 2007 That may be normal for that system, it will have to support 64 Bit extensions and you would need to be using a 64-Bit O.S. to see the full four gig. Please run http://www.memtest.org and see how much memory is showing in Memtest.
