Nother Newby Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 I've just ordered an Asus P5K3 Deluxe motherboard with the Core 2 Quad Q6600. I am interested in the TWIN3X4096-1600C7DHX G modules. I do not intend to upgrade to Windows Vista yet (compatibility of my video editing software). By purchasing this configuration, I hope to leave my options open later for upgrading to Vista and possibly 8gb. I don't have plans for overclocking (well, maybe just a little). My question is: will Windows XP recognize the 4gb configuration on two memory sticks (within the limits of a 32 bit OS--3 to 3.5 gb)? If this configuration does not work, what are my best options for a fast 4gb configuration using all four slots? Thanks much.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 8, 2007 Corsair Employee Posted October 8, 2007 4 x DIMM, max. 8GB, DDR3 1333*/1066 / 800 MHz, non-ECC, un-buffered memory Dual channel memory architecture *The chipset officially supports the memory frequency up to DDR3 1066MHz. Tuned by ASUS Super Memspeed Technology, this motherboard natively supports up to DDR3 1333MHz Please refer to http://www.asus.com or user manual for Memory QVL. Those modules will work with that MB but maybe not at the tested settings of the modules with out over clocking.
