Wildman95GS-T
Hi, i have two Corsair XMSCMX512-2700LLPT modules and want to add a third, they are hard to find, all i can find are XMCMX512-2700C2PT or XMSCMX512-2700C2. Can i mix these with my two without causing me any problems
DerekT
It is never a good idea to mix and match modules. You never can be certain that they will work. You can try it if you like as you can't hurt the board but I would download Memtest from http://www.memtest.org and test the modules for stability. Just because you boot, does not mean you are stable and you might well corrupt your Operating system. Remove the hard drive cables and then install/test the dram if you choose to go that route. Wired
keep in mind that any memory bought from an end user and not an authorized reseller will not have a warranty.
Wildman95GS-T
Thanks for the advise, i just know that this memory sells for $165 a stick when you can find it and i got both for $60 shipped, so if they quit working not a lot lost. Just wish i can find a deal on a third stick.
