Corsair memory bad?

It's been over a year since I got my corsair cmx1024-3200 (pair) from newegg. Today, I woke up and opened my monitor and saw a blue screen. So I rebooted but then it came back, and again, and again. I tried booting under ubuntu, didn't work as well. So I ran memtest 86+. I had 100% failure, essentially no passes whatsoever.

I thought it was a glitch so I ran memtest 86 (the older one) and I still had 100% failure and half the screen was full of red "bad addresses". I took one of the memory chips out and ran it and it went smoothly. No more BSoD, no problems. I put the chip back in and the problems came back.

I hear from others that you should send both twins back to corsair to get it replaced, but I need to use my computer since it's used for most of my work. Is it possible to simply get a replacement of the single chip?

Let me know

Steve

Let's get them or it replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part! Or “Tech Support Express” and we will be happy to replace them or it, please note that you are posting from the forum! If the modules were purchased as a kit, then it would be best to have them both replaced. However you may contact our customer service if you would like to see what options might be available to you. Please call our customer service at 888-222-4346 or 510-657-8747 Ext “0”.
