CNT329
I have been running an Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe with Opteron 185 Denmark (not OC'd) and TWIN2048-3200C2PT. Everything has been stable, but I'm looking to go from 2GB to 3GB. I will be replacing a hard drive and while I'm under the hood, I want to add a little more RAM and buy some more time with this mobo. I'm also gonna give Vista Ultimate 32 a whirl (I know, but what the heck). I want to add another 1GB in the form of TWINX1024-3200C2PT for a total of 3GB. I have never added RAM this way and it seems foreign to me working with different capacity DIMMs. What do I need to adjust in my BIOS other than switching to dual channel (2T)? Here is what it has been thus far: CAS 2 tRCD 3 tRP 3 tRAS 6 2.75v Thanks for your advice .
DerekT
There can be issues with such a move. It is not a guaranteed thing that your board will accept the new DRAM. Even with sticks of the same timing.
