Player1984
Hi i am using 4 gb pc2-8500 1066, im on an Striker Extreme Mobo, while im running the CPU-Z program it says... MEMORY Size 4096 Channels= Dual Frequency 400mhz (should it be at least 800 and moved in bios 1066) GAS latency= 5 clocks Ras to Gas delay 5 clocks etc etc When i move to The SPD thing it says module size 1024 max bandwidth = pc2 6400 (400 mhz) (shouldnt it say here 800 at least?? or 1066 tweaked in bios) manufacturer = corsair etc etc etc any help solving this issue will be great apreciated thxs
DerekT
SPD is the timings and speed settings programmed into the DRAM. 800Mhz is the Maximum JEDEC standards. 1066 is above those standards. If you go to the "Memory" tab, then you will see the actual speed at which the memory is running. The SPD tab is constant and Memory tab is dynamic. Keep in mind that you must multiply the memory by 2 in the Memory tab due to dual channel mode. To be running at 1066Mhz, the memory tab will show 533Mhz and the timings at which it is presently running.

DerekT
Well, with four sticks of DRAM, you might well have to stick with 800Mhz. Sometimes you can get away with 4 sticks and the full speed of the DRAM on an Nvidia chipset, sometimes not.
